TEACHING IN SECONDARY<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>BULGARIAN SCHOOL<br \/><\/strong><br \/><strong>Abstract.<\/strong> This statement attempts to highlight and bring together these&nbsp;specificities of the socio-cultural and educational nature, which proved significant&nbsp;when we try to construct a valid intercultural model in Russian language teaching&nbsp;in secondary Bulgarian school. In the context of these specificities a hypertrophied&nbsp;attitude towards functional-pragmatic approach is notable. This pushes in the&nbsp;periphery the language ability to design cultural values as an identification marker&nbsp;of a society. According to us the situation shows that the construction of a model&nbsp;of intercultural focus, which is inspired by the formulations of cognitive science,&nbsp;is more appropriate for the realization of an integrated studying of the Russian&nbsp;language.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assist. Shishmanov\u2019s concept of modern Bulgarian&nbsp;culture (1904) as part of the current elaboration of the Bulgarian nation-state. The&nbsp;concept shows no illusions about Eurocentric ambitions as they had been made&nbsp;clear by modern European aesthetics. Yet Shishmanov also held on to the belief&nbsp;that Bulgaria\u2019s recent development along the path of modernisation warranted&nbsp;the nation\u2019s ultimate triumph in future through the
