1901<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract<\/strong>. The text analyzes the state of the Bulgarian irredentism in 1901 under the rule of the coalition government with Prime-minister Petko Karavelov. The Bulgarian foreign policy in the field of the irredentism is forced to comply with the strong pressure from the Russian diplomacy to contain the Bulgarian national liberation movement in Macedonia and Edirne Thrace. The Central Committee of the Internal Revolutionary Organization undergoes a severe stroke in the so called Thessaloniki affair. Subsequently, the removal of Boris Sarafov from the governance of the Supreme Committee takes place in Sofia. Despite the negative impact of these events over the Bulgarian revolutionary nationalism, Knyaz Ferdinand does not give up from his initial intent to disrupt the status quo in European Turkey at any
